Sao Paulo: Kaka's former club Sao Paulo has expressed interest in signing the playmaker in the next transfer window.

"I would really like to have Kaka here," Xinhua quoted Sao Paulo's new president Carlos Miguel Aidar as saying Tuesday, although admitting the club where Kaka began his career in 2001 might not be able to afford the midfielder's wage demands.

Kaka has shown glimpses of his best form since returning to AC Milan last September after a turbulent four-year spell at Real Madrid.

The 32-year-old still has more than a year remaining on his Milan contract, but reports have linked him with a summer move to Asia or the US Major League.

"We can't compete with Middle Eastern and Chinese clubs, but he would fit in here like a glove," Aidar added.

Kaka, who won the FIFA World Player of the Year award in 2007, has scored seven goals and given four assists from 26 appearances in this season's Italian Serie A.
