Sangakkara claims loves chasing records post becoming first batsman to score four consecutive World Cup tons

 Sri Lanka's wicketkeeper-batsman Kumar Sangakkara has claimed that he loves chasing records, after he became the first batsman to score four consecutive ODI tons in a World Cup during his side's tie against Scotland in Hobart.

The veteran left-hander hit 124 off 95 balls and Tillakaratne Dilshan made 104 as Sri Lanka piled up 363 for nine and then bowled out the Scots for 215 at the Bellerive Oval. Sangakkara also took two catches to overtake Adam Gilchrist as the most successful World Cup wicket-keeper with 54 dismissals, two more than the Australian's record, Sport24 reported.

Sangakkara claimed that he believes records do matter, adding that he would love to say records never enter his mind, but insisted that they do. He claimed that there are certain things that one chases and one tries to keep those goals. The former skipper said that they are not the only things one chases, but added that as long as one does the right things, those things would fall into place and come along.

Sangakkara, who would retire from ODI cricket after the World Cup, had made 105 not out against Bangladesh, an unbeaten 117 against England and 104 against Australia earlier in the tournament, the report added.
