On Day 3 of the BWF World Championships, Indian badminton star Saina Nehwal was in action for the first time since her quarter-final exit in the Singapore Open in June and brushed aside her opponent with ease.

The 23-year-old star was taking on Russian player Olga Golovanova who is ranked 66.

In just 23 minutes, Nehwal defeated her opponent with a 21-5, 21-4 win.

The match saw Golovanova getting tips from her coaching staff.

The World No3 who was out of action for the last month had ample time to work on her fitness and improve her game for the tournament where she is yet to win a medal.

The Olympic bronze medallist received a first round bye in the tournament, but didn't appear 100% fit in the match.

Saina Nehwal will face tougher opponents ahead and will be looking to get back her groove as she hopes to break her medal duck in this tournament.
