Saeed Ajmal, Faf du Plessis storm to top positions in the ICC ODI rankings; Suresh Raina enters top 20

Pakistan's off spinner Saeed Ajmal and South Africa's batsman Faf du Plessis have stormed to the top position in the International Cricket Council (ICC) ODI rankings. Ajmal has retained the position even amidst controversies over his bowling action.

Du Plessis attained the top position after a stellar performance against Australia in Harare wherein he scored 464 runs in the triangular series, reported the Express Tribune.

Du Plessis is the fourth South African batsman to feature inside the top 11, with captain AB de Villiers retaining the number one position from teammate Hashim Amla and Quinton de Kock slipping two places to 9th position.

West Indies off spinner Sunil Narine is back on second rank while South African fast bowler Dale Steyn moved to the third position replacing England's James Anderson.

Suresh Raina jumped eight places to rank 19 in the ICC ODI ranking list after he scored 160 runs in four matches in the recently ended one day series that India won 3-1. Shikhar Dhawan, who also scored 155 runs in the our matches, jumped to the seventh place, next to his captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni who stands at the sixth position now. Ajinkya Rahane gained the most jumping 32 spots to be ranked in 68th position.
