When Sachin Tendulkar retired from international cricket on November 16 last year, the entire nation was in tears as the player who gave them all the reasons to cheer for those 24 years was retiring.

As always, the 'Little Master' was sure about his decisions. Like every confident stroke he played on the field, he seemed determined to play the game of life sans cricket. And we must say his second innings was not that bad either.

Youngest Bharat Ratna award recipient – February 4, 2014: For his contribution to cricket and taking it to new heights in the country, the 'Master Blaster' was awarded with India's highest civilian honor. Sachin became the first sportsman and youngest person ever to receive the medal.

Buys ISL team Kerala Blasters – April 13, 2014​: Resolute to popularise other sports as much as cricket, the Legend has always stepped forth to help the sportsmen in one way or other. One of his endeavours in this direction was buying Kerala's ISL team. Knowing how famous he is, the step is sure to bring many youngsters to like and understand the game. 

Motivates Indian Hockey team for World Cup – May 20, 2014: Sachin was a major motivational 'factor' for India's cricket team leading them to win the ICC World Cup 2011. The cricketer became the same to the Indian Hockey team after he paid a surprise visit to them before they were departing for the World Cup in Hague thereby leaving the players in awe and inspired. 

Receives thundering applause at Wimbledon – June 28, 2014​: While spending his vacation in London, Sachin decided to go to Wimbledon to watch his favourite sport tennis in order to see ace player Rafael Nadal in action. Highlight of his visit was the rousing welcome that he received from the crowd.

Playing in Bicentenary Celebration Match – July 2, 2014​: You can take Sachin out of cricket, but you can't take cricket out of Sachin. This was proved true when the 'Master' captained Marylebone Cricket Club​ to victory with a gutsy 44. Yuvraj Singh touching his feet during the match showed how much respect he had attained in the players' hearts.

Appointed as IAF's honorary Group Captain – September 3, 2014​: Another feather in the Master's cap was when he became the first sportsperson and the first person ever without an aviation background to be awarded the honorary rank of Group Captain by the Indian Air Force.

Modi's ambassador for Swachcha Bharat Abhiyan – October 2, 2014: Calling it a proud moment of his life, Sachin Tendulkar actively took part in the campaign and promoted cleanliness by picking up the broom and cleaning a Mumbai road with a bunch of youngsters, whom he referred to as his 'team'.

Autobiography 'Playing it my way' released – November 5, 2014: Revealing the hidden truths of Indian Cricket, Sachin released his autobiography amidst high media attention and controversies. The book featuring anecdotes from his life became a 'Best Seller' immediately after it was up for sales in the stores.

Adopts village in Andhra Pradesh – November 15, 2011: Showing love for his country and how committed he is towards India's development, Sachin Tendulkar decided to adopt a rural village Puttamraju Kandrika under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna.

Sachin Tendulkar completed his one year away from cricket on Sunday. Though, he had said that his life will be hard without cricket, his list of accomplishments continued to grow in the second phase of life as well.
