Rajasthan Congress President Sachin Pilot on Wednesday accused the ruling BJP of trying to re-establish former IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi in the corridors of power in the state on the pretext of IPL.

"Enforcement Directorate and other agencies have issued notices of financial irregularities and demanded arrest of people like Vijay Mallya and Lalit Modi.

But on the other hand, BJP-led government in Rajasthan is making efforts to bring Modi back in state power corridors in the name of cricket," Pilot said.

Pilot has alleged that in the last two years, nothing has been done for sports and sportsmen but as cricket matches have been sanctioned to the state, BJP government has become hyperactive for its preparations.

"The move of the government is not out of love for the game, but to re-establish Lalit Modi in state politics through cricket," he said. Three IPL matches will be played at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur following the verdict of the Bombay High Court to shift IPL matches out of the drought-hit Maharashtra after April 30.

Modi, who is Rajasthan Cricket Association president, is facing money laundering charges and is currently in self-imposed exile in the UK.
