Resolute Eoin Morgan pours cold water over Kevin Pietersen's England return dreams

England skipper Eoin Morgan has firmly said that national selectors' decision to sack Kevin Pietersen remains intact, thus quashing rumours surrounding the maverick batsman's return to the squad for the upcoming World Cup.

Morgan, who took over the captaincy from Alastair Cook, said that he was very happy with the group of players he had, adding that they had to drive the England team forward over the next two months in particular, Sport24 reported.

Earlier in the week, Pietersen claimed that his good friend Morgan wanted to have him back in England's 50-over team during a television interview with Ricky Ponting.

Morgan further said that Kevin's situation hadn't changed over the last year and had been reiterated over months and days, the report added.
