Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has dedicated the club's Champions League victory to the club's Iraqi fans killed in an ISIS massacre earlier this month.

Ramos' early goal and Ronaldo's decisive spot-kick in the penalty shoot-out handed Real Madrid their 11th Champions League title, a record for the most number of CL titles by any team.

In a report from the Mirror, Perez, talking to Spanish television, remembered the loss of the Iraqi fans and dedicated the victory to them.

"I would like to dedicate this cup to our fans in Iraq," said Perez.

Real Madrid had previously sent their condolences in the aftermath of the attack.

A statement read: “Real Madrid profoundly laments the terrible attack today in Iraq which has ended the life of 16 members of a Madrid fan club and that injured more than 20. The club expresses its total sadness and offers its thoughts and condolences to the families and friends of the victims. Real Madrid extends its solidarity to the people of Iraq, that suffers the injustice of extremist violence. Football and sports will always be places of meeting, harmony and peace which no savage terrorism will overcome. Madrid fans around the world weep today for its fans, who will never be forgotten.”

La Liga president Javier Tebas had also said: "Shocked by the attack against a Real Madrid supporters club in Iraq. Terrorism attacking football. We are with the victims and their families. Football is a target for terror. We were going to travel to Iraq this month, but it was postponed for security reasons. We will return to support the Iraqi people."
