India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja may miss out on the squad for the 2015 World Cup, to be announced on January 6.

Jadeja suffered a shoulder injury during the ongoing Australia-India Test series which may keep him out of action for a long time. The 26-year old, who has been nursing his injury in Chennai, has not yet reached the expected mark to return to competitive cricket.

The BCCI may try to bring in force the replacement policy, and it remains to be seen as to whether Jadeja would be fit in time for the World Cup, or would the team management have to ponder on an alternate option.

Yuvraj Singh may be brought in as replacement

Yuvraj Singh, who has hit top form in the domestic circuit may be the ideal foil for Jadeja. BCCI officials confirmed that Yuvraj's name has been cropped up owing to the recent injury set back, which has altered team plans.

Also the squad for the ODI tri-series involving Australia and England will be announced on January 6.
