Former Pakistan cricketer Tauseef Ahmed believes that Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin’s action is suspicious, adding that the Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan chucked more than Saeed Ajmal. Tauseef said India are protecting Ashwin from the crackdown on the spinners and they will play him directly in the World Cup.

“People talk about him [Ravichandran Ashwin] as well because he has the carrom ball. But it’s in his hand and this is why I think India have not played him recently. And they will play him directly in the World Cup. But I think he is mashqooq (suspicious),” Tauseef told Geo News.

The former off-spinner, who played 34 Tests and 70 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) for Pakistan, said that Muralitharan used to chuck more than Ajmal. “Everyone wants to bowl the doosra. But that is creating lot of issues for many. To bowl a doosra you have to straighten your elbow and bend it. And just to bowl that delivery chucking is happening. If the trouble is on Ajmal then Murali used to chuck more. Then he was cleared later on after the medical tests, but he used to chuck a lot,” added Tauseef.
