The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Friday that Ravi Shastri will remain Team India's director of cricket till the end of the 2015 World Cup.

Following a meeting of its working committee in Chennai, the board also decided to retain Duncan Fletcher as the head coach for the marquee event besides approving the appointments of Sanjay Bangar and B Arun as assistant coaches and R Sridhar as the fielding coach.

Trevor Penney and Joe Dawes, the team's regular fielding and bowling coaches, have been asked to complete their terms at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.

In other decisions, the BCCI announced that only players who are below 23 would be eligible for selection in the India A team, adding that there would be no cap on the number of Ranji Trophy players that can be a part of the squad. A team from North Zone was, meanwhile, formed to help the resumption of regular cricket activities in Jammu and Kashmir, which was affected by floods recently.

Another significant decision taken at the meeting, which president-in-abeyance N Srinivasan attended as a representative of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA), was to hold the board's Annual General Meeting on November 20. The AGM, which usually takes place before September 30 every year, has been delayed this year to favour Srinivasan, whose alleged role in the IPL spot-fixing scandal is being investigated by a Supreme Court-appointed committee.

Verma cries foul
Petitioner and Cricket Association of Bihar secretary Aditya Verma slammed Srinivasan for attending Friday's meeting. “The participation of Mr N Srinivasan in this meeting as a representative of TNCA is totally wrong and (in) violation of the Supreme Court order... In its order, the court (had) clearly said Mr Srinivasan will not attend (to) any day-to-day affairs of BCCI till the probe concluded... Being a petitioner, I will raise this question in front of the Supreme Court on October 10,” Verma said in a release.
