The Ranji Trophy semi-final showdown between Mumbai and Tamil Nadu is poised delicately poised after the latter got all-out for 305 on Monday morning. They, however, managed to pick up the wicket of debutant Prithvi Shaw before lunch to reduce the defending champions to 35 for 1. Left-handed opener Praful Waghela and Suryakumar Yadav, who surprisingly walked in ahead of Shreyas Iyer, are holding fort for Mumbai.

Shaw will be particularly disappointed with himself was getting out the way he did. After hitting a glorious flick off his pads through mid-wicket for a boundary, the 17-year-old chased a ball way outside off-stump only to be caught behind by wicket-keeper Dinesh Kartik. The youngster lost a great opportunity to make a big impact on his debut, that too at such a big stage, and it's a surety that he will get a dressing down from coach Chandrakant Pandit for his careless shot.

Earlier, veteran Abhishek Nayar once again showed his class when he, along with pacer Shardul Thakur, picked up four wickets to shoot-out Tamil Nadu for what is a modest total on such a flat track. Having said that, if Mumbai lose a couple of quick wickets post lunch the game could be split wide open.
