Some luck mixed with hardwork in their last league match against Karnataka saw Mumbai manage to sneak into the quarterfinal stages.

In the knockout, Mumbai will require pure hardwork to take the bull — Delhi — by horns when they meet from today in the last eight matchin Cuttack. It won't be an easy task for Aditya Tare-led outfit that has battled inconsistency throughout the league.

To take on Delhi that has giants like Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir (captain) apart from some old war horse veterans and exciting young guns, it will be more than a tough challenge. That too at a neutral venue.
Mumbai, as usual, will depend on the likes of the skipper Tare, senior pro Abhishek Nayar, Surya Kumar Yadav, last match centurions Siddhesh Lad and Nikhil Patil in the batting department.

Seamer Shardul Thakur will be at the helm of affairs in bowling with support from Balwinder Singh Sandhu. Left-arm spinner Harmeet Singh, who impressed against Karnataka with a six wicket haul ago, will be under the spotlight.

As far as the history goes, Mumbai have had a better record with 10 victories against Delhi with one defeat and 15 draws.

All in all, it will be a mouth-watering affair.
