The Union sports ministry has expressed its interest in acquiring the services of retired cricketer Rahul Dravid. He could thus become part of the expert committee in charge of spotting possible medal winning talents for the 2016 and 2020 Olympics, a project of the newly formed central government.
The 41-year-old has reportedly accepted the ministry's request. The panel, which could comprise of big-name media personalities in addition to some of the successful sports persons the country has ever produced, could well see him even becoming the head.
