Nine-time grand slam champion Rafael Nadal and world number one Novak Djokovic will face off in a French Open quarter-final blockbuster on Wednesday, in what is one of the most eagerly awaited clashes in the sport of tennis in recent times.

The Spaniard is trying to become the first player in the Open era to win 10 titles at any Grand Slam event and has defeated Djokovic six times in the French Open, including the last three years.

Meanwhile, top seed Djokovic is in prime form, riding on a 26-match winning streak and will be eyeing the one major title that has so far eluded him, and will thus look to complete a career Grand Slam.

Nadal, has only won one tournament since Paris last year. However, he said it was just a quarter-final and the winner of the match may or may not be the Roland Garros champion.

The BBC further quoted him, as saying that whoever wins would be a semi-finalist and that makes a lot of difference, adding that even if it was a special match, it was only a quarter-final.

Djokovic, however, said he would have to take a different approach, mentally speaking, because he would be facing the 'King of Clay'.
