Young Indian shuttler PV Sindhu dropped two places to be ranked 14th in the women's section of the latest Badminton World Federation chart released today.

The two-time World Championship bronze medallist had an early exit in the ongoing Australian Open Super Series as she bowed out in the first round itself.

India's lone hope in the Sydney event, World No 1 Saina Nehwal stayed atop the rankings table as the ace shuttler moved into the quarter-finals.

In men's section, Kidambi Srikanth's exit from the tournament did not affect his ranking as he stayed he held on to his fourth spot.

Commonwealth Games champion Parupalli Kashyap and HS Prannoy both rose a place to No.12 and No.14, respectively.

Meanwhile, 2010 Commonwealth Games champion pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa, who also bowed out of the women's doubles competition, made a surprising jump of three places to be placed at the 18th spot.
