President Pranab Mukherjee lauds Kidambi Srikanth on Swiss Open win

President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday congratulated badminton ace Kidambi Srikanth for winning the Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold Championship in Basel.

In his message, the President congratulated Srikanth on setting a 'new benchmark for success'.

"Hearty congratulations and best wishes on your winning the Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold Championship in badminton. As the first Indian to win this title, you have set a new benchmark of success for badminton players. The whole country joins your family and you in celebrating this remarkable achievement. I look forward to your winning for India many more such laurels in the future," the message read.

On Sunday, Srikanth ousted defending champion Viktor Axelsen 21-15, 12-21, 21-14 to win the USD 1,20,000 at St. Jakobshalle.
