It has been reportedly revealed that a bat, which once belonged to late Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes, would be placed on Mount Everest in a tribute to the batsman.

Cricket Australia chairman Wally Edwards said that the Cricket Association of Nepal had come forward with the Everest idea, Sport24 reported.

He reportedly also said that there were plans for a 63-over game to be played in Nepal in a tribute to Hughes who was 63 not out when he endured the fatal injury, the report added.

Phillip Hughes passed away after succumbing to injuries he endured from a bouncer at the SCG in a Sheffield Shield match.
