Two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova, who suffered a serious hand injury four months ago, has finally returned to the tennis court.

Last month in December, Kvitova suffered severe injuries to her playing hand after she was attacked by a knife-wielding intruder at her home in Czech Republic.

The Czech on Tuesday posted a picture of herself hitting a ball on a practice court in Monaco on her Facebook account.

"Hello guys, I hope this picture makes you as happy as it makes me!" Sport24 quoted Kvitova as writing.

"I am in Monaco and guess what? I'm back on the tennis court, hitting with some proper balls,? she added.

Kvitova, who won the women's singles titles at Wimbledon in 2011 and 2014, had ruled out of Hopman Cup mixed teams' tennis tournament due to a foot injury.

Last month, she had entered the draw for French Open scheduled to take place from May 22.
