London Olympics quarter-finalist shuttler Parupalli Kashyap suffered a shock loss against old nemesis in the the third round of the $125,000 Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold here Thursday.

Kashyap, on the day he reached his career-best ranking of World No7, went down to Malaysian ninth seed Wei Feng Chong 21-18, 7-21, 16-21 in 55 minutes at St. Jakobshalle in the tier three tournament.

The fifth seed had also lost his previous two meetings against the World No.18 Malaysian. However, their last encounter was three years back in 2010.
