The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has urged Cricket Australia to decrease the number of test matches for the October series from three to two and increase the ODIs and Twenty20 matches.

The third Test will be replaced by a series of limited-overs games, with UAE expected to be confirmed as the tournament venue.

Cricket Australia said that Pakistan wanted to concentrate on ODIs and Twenty20 formats for the October series.

The PCB made the move in spite of the ICC Future Tours Programme dictating that the tour consist of three matches, because the new schedule will help the board secure a larger broadcast fee, The Express Tribune reports.

The last encounter between the two nations was also played over just two Tests.
