The Delhi High Court-appointed observer for the fourth Test Justice (Retd) Mukul Mudgal on Sunday said that he is not averse to staying back till the end of next year's World T20 matches at Feroz Shah Kotla.

Top DDCA officials have already expressed their wish that Mudgal stays with them till March 31 as Kotla is slated to host three matches, including a semifinal. "There has been no formal agreement about staying back after the Test match but if the High Court wants me to oversee the preparations for the World T20, I will definitely stay back," Mudgal told PTI today.

The former Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court, who is also the head of IPL Probe Committee, was appointed by Delhi HC after the Delhi & Districts Cricket Association was embroiled in allegations over corruption and non payment of tax. "We are very hopeful that Justice Mudgal will stay back till March 31 and oversee the conduct of three World T20 matches," DDCA treasurer Ravinder Manchanda told PTI today.

In a separate matter, Manchanda also said that as of now they do not need further funds from BCCI except for the Rs 2.5 crore that they released already. "Tomorrow our Central Bank of India account will be activated once again. We have funds to organise the match. Also after the Test match is over, we will be clearing the match fees of Delhi's Ranji Trophy cricketers," Manchanda said.
