Jan 30 (The Sports Xchange) - Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins reportedly will not be arrested or prosecuted for a nightclub incident in New York last month.

Sources told ESPN.com that Cousins has been cleared of all wrongdoing by authorities after a Dec. 5 altercation at a Manhattan club that resulted in teammate Matt Barnes facing misdemeanor assault charges.

The players' lawyer, Alex Spiro, confirmed to ESPN on Monday that Cousins has been cleared.

Barnes is expected to turn himself in to the New York Police Department this week to face his misdemeanor charges, but the Sacramento Bee reported it was unclear whether that would happen during the Kings' current eight-game road trip.

The Kings were scheduled to play the 76ers in Philadelphia on Monday night.

The alleged assault took place at the Avenue nightclub after the Kings lost to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 4. Barnes was accused of choking a woman but has maintained his innocence and will get a court date once he turns himself in.

Barnes and Cousins have been named in a civil suit stemming from the incident filed in a New York District Court by plaintiffs Jasmine Besiso and Myrone Powell.

Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffin zeroed in on T.J. McConnell as his answer to LeBron James' pleas to bring in another point guard and playmaker.

But the Philadelphia 76ers were not willing to oblige.

Cleveland inquired about trading for the 76ers' second-year guard several weeks back but was rebuffed, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Behind All-Star starter Kyrie Irving, Jordan McRae and the 21-year-old Kay Felder are the only point guards on the Cavaliers' roster. James has repeatedly lobbied Griffin through the media to add another point guard to the roster.

The 76ers signed guard Chasson Randle to a three-year contract on Monday after the former Stanford standout joined the team on a pair of 10-day contracts.

Although primarily a point guard, the 23-year-old Randle is capable of sliding over to the two-guard position. Randle has averaged 4.0 points on 50 percent shooting in four games with Philadelphia.

The Memphis Grizzlies re-signed guard Toney Douglas to a 10-day contract and waived forward Troy Williams on Monday.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Douglas originally signed with Memphis as a free agent on Dec. 5 under the NBA's hardship rule, which allows teams to temporarily create an extra roster spot if it has at least four players who are sick or injured for at least two weeks.

Douglas, 30, appeared in six games as a reserve, helping the Grizzlies to a 5-1 record, and averaged 5.8 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 17.8 minutes before he was waived on Dec. 15.
