Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes that Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi can be stopped, thus contradicting Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola, who had termed the Argentine striker as 'unstoppable' before their Champions League tie.

Earlier, Guardiola had said that there was no way to stop Messi, insisting that there is not a system or coach to stop talent of this magnitude.

However, the Chelsea manager disagrees with Guardiola, saying that he used to spend hours studying and trying to stop Messi every time he used to play against the Barcelona forward. He added that in doing so, they were successful many times and not other times, the Independent reported.

Mourinho further said that there was a huge difference with a team with Messi and the one without Messi, insisting that the best way one could do to stop him was to play a difficult match against the Argentine talisman.
