Mumbai FC take on Mohammedan Sporting, in what could termed as the last bid by the former to stay alive in this elite league of the country, at the Balewadi sports complex here on Sunday.

Mohammedan Sporting who picked up three vital points with a 2-1 win over Rangdajied United will be looking for a similar performance against hosts Mumbai FC who are also coming with 4-2 win over defending champions Churchill Brothers at the same venue last week.

The Khalid Jamil coached Mumbai FC have been good in signing peace treaties (draws) this season and their 13 draws says it all. The side which was once in the relegation zone and now sitting pretty up in the eight place in the points tally (28 points).

But, that is not what they are looking as they they want to make the most of it and do better than what they done last season (eight).

"We finished 8th last season, but this year we want to climb up and this match is an good opportunity for us," said their manager Henry Picardo.

The boys are fit and raring to go, so we would go for a win and improve our position this season,"said Picardo.

Mohammedan Sporting are last in this 13-team I-league (21 points) off 23 matches and a win here will give them some relief, and they would be looking at the Churchill Brothers versus Salgaocar. A defeat to the defending champions Churchill Brothers will see them off this elite group season 2014-15.
