Miami Open: Andy Murray registers 500th career win

Britain number one Andy Murray has secured his 500th career win after trouncing Kevin Anderson to advance to the quarterfinal of the Miami Open.

Murray, two-time Grand Slam champion, outclassed South African opponent Anderson 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 to reach the landmark. With the win, Murray has become the 46th man to reach 500 wins since the open era began.Reflecting on the achievement, Murray said that he hoped he could use this as motivation to win some more, the BBC reported.

Murray further said that there are different ways of judging the success of someone's career, but winning 800-900 matches is something that has happened very rarely and a difficult thing to do, insisting that it gives one something to aim at.
