When the Mumbai Cricket Association managing committee members sit for a special meeting called for by its president Sharad Pawar on October 16, the agenda that will top the discussions will be the proposal put forth by legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

The 15-a-side idea of Tendulkar has been listed on top of the notice followed by the finalisation of the dates for the 81st Annual General Meeting in a notice that has been distributed to the managing committee members.

Tendulkar had floated the idea of playing 15 players instead of 11 on rotation in schools and colleges during a felicitation function at the MCA Academy, BKC last year. However, MCA's technical committee and managing committee had rejected the idea before Pawar advised to reconsider the issue.

"Tendulkar is very passionate about this idea, hence Pawar is showing interest in this," said an official from the managing committee.

However, even if the MCA okays the idea, it will be difficult for the Mumbai Schools Sports Association to implement it this year. "It is a good idea, but it won't be possible to implement at such a short notice since the tournament is starting next month. But we can definitely try it out next year," said an MSSA official.
