After a crackdown on overage players, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has trained its guns on players with suspect action.
On Friday, the MCA released a list of 55 players suspended for chucking. The named players will have to rectify their action at the MCA's academy in Bandra Kurla Complex, until which they cannot participate in any of MCA's tournaments.
The list comprises players from Mumbai's clubs, schools and colleges.
"The players will be suspended till they clear the action under the guidance of experts," said Dr. Unmesh Khanvilkar, MCA's joint secretary.
"We have been receiving complaints on this issue and MCA is very serious about getting over this menace. We are surprised by the number, but the percentage of cricket played is also big," he added.
Khanvilkar revealed that the MCA has been working on this issue for some time. "People who normally have suspect are the ones who don't have proper training and come directly with natural talent," said Khanvilkar.
