Mayweather would go head-to-head against Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao in a mega bout on May 2 in a bid to prove that he is the greatest fighter of his generation, but the American insists that he is already the greatest fighter of all-time.

Mayweather said that he respects Ali and acknowledge all the past champions, but insisted that he had done just as much for the sport as Ali had done, the Mirror reported.

Although Mayweather maintained that he meant no disrespect to Ali, he claimed that he was still strong at the age of 38 and feels like the best.

Mayweather further said that he was pretty certain that he would get criticised, but said that he couldn't care less as Ali himself had been criticised for saying he was better than Sugar Ray Robinson.
