Five-time world champion MC Mary Kom has sounded a warning bell ahead of her much-anticipated bout against Haryana boxer Pinki Jangra in the selection trials for the Asia Oceanic Olympic Qualifiers in China later this month.

Mary Kom, who has been training in Delhi at the Indira Gandhi Indoor (IGI) Stadium for the past few days, has said she would "settle" her long-standing rivalry with Jangra "once and for all" by defeating her in Patiala on Tuesday.

"This has been going on for a long time. Sometimes she would say nasty things about me, sometimes I would react in a particular way. This verbal fight is not doing any good to us. Let us settle this issue once and for all inside the ring. Let this upcoming fight between us decide who has the bragging rights. I am confident about my preparation and my participation in the Olympic qualifiers," Mary Kom told dna on Saturday.

Mary Kom has been practising hard for her fight with Jangra, which will decide India's representation in the flyweight category (51kg) at the qualifiers to be held in Quinian from March 23 to April 3. The bout has great significance attached to it, not only in terms of getting a chance to secure an Olympic quota but also witnessing another chapter to their fierce rivalry.

Jangra, on her part, has been training in Hisar under the watchful eyes of her personal coach Jaswant. Jangra took special permission from the Sports Authority of India to excuse her from the national camp and allow her to train with Jaswant as he is not part of the women team's coaching set-up.

But Mary Kom has a problem with this as well. "Don't you think this is a biased approach? I was told to continue at the national camp or else I won't be selected for international tournaments. I wasn't allowed to train on my own. Jangra got the special permission to train in hiding. Now what will you call that?" she said.
