Manchester United are preparing to call off the Cristiano Ronaldo deal in order to avoid upsetting their current star players. While United is keen on getting back Ronaldo in the squad, they are not willing to put strain on the club's treasury by meeting the player's astronomical pay demands.

It is believed that Ronaldo has asked for a weekly salary of about 300,000 pounds to return to England, but The Red Devils are worried about paying such high wages, as well as being aware that the 29-year-old may be using a potential transfer back to United as a way of securing a new contract at Real, Metro reports. Meanwhile, Real Madrid are likely to demand about 60 million pounds from United should they agree to part with Ronaldo next summer, the report said.
