Paul Scholes, former England player, is set to play in the new Premier Futsal league being introduced in India.

According to a report on Goal.com, the Manchester United legend will be playing in the much-talked about football league, the president of which is Portuguese winger Luis Figo, who played for Barcelona and Real Madrid. Indian cricket star Virat Kohli is the brand ambassador of the league that has other European legends like Falcao and Deco already roped in.

The league is speculated to be played in eight major cities of India like Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. Futsal is a shorter version of football - 5 players a side and 20 minutes in each half of the game. The league, however, is facing controversy with FIFA and AIFF calling it unsanctioned.

Scholes spent his entire football career, around 20 years, in Manchester United, retiring in 2013. The English legend scored 107 goals, made almost 500 appearances and lifted 25 trophies for the club.
