Manchester City football team manager Manuel Pellegrini has challenged striker Sergio Aguero to bag the Ballon D'Or and smash the prestigious award's domination of La Liga duo Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Real Madrid star Ronaldo won the award as the world's top player last season after four successive wins by Barcelona wizard Messi.

But as Pellegrini prepares to take City to Bayern Munich for their opening Champions League match with Pep Guardiola's German champions, the City boss reckons it's time for Aguero to make his mark as the finest footballer on Earth, The Mirror reported. Pellegrini said that he thinks Aguero is among the best players in the world, and added that he feels that now it is up to him to make it and fight for the Ballon D'Or, because he has all the qualities one can ask of a football player.

The City boss said that Aguero is technically very strong, he is fast and has a lot of power, adding that he is very intelligent, able to play in his position in between midfield and attack. And so, he added that they hope to see Aguero back in the form he demonstrated in the Premier League before his injuries hit him.
