Sri Lanka cricketer Mahela Jayawardene has decided to retire from Twenty20 international at the end of ICC World T20 2014 event, along with Kumar Sangakkara in tow as per reports.
He has scored eight half-centuries in T20 international matches.
Jayawardene has appeared in all four T20 World Cup events till now and the 2014 tournament in Bangladesh will be his last one.
On Monday, International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the news on Twitter.

The batsman from Colombo has scored 1,335 runs from 49 T20 International matches.
Earlier on Sunday, Sangakkara announced his retirement from T20 International after the ICC World T20 2014 followed by Jayawardene.
