Legendary Indian captain Kapil Dev started off a new tradition in India by ringing the Lord's-like 'Eden Bell' that marked the start of day one's proceedings of the second Test between India and New Zealand on Friday.
The giant silver-coated bell, just below the Eden clock was installed on the lines of the five-minute Lord's Bell which was introduced in 2007. Each morning the bell will be rung by different personalities to mark the start of play in the second Test.
However, the official Twitter handle of Lord's Ground tried to pull Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) President, Sourav Ganguly's leg by tweeting, "Great to hear Eden Gardens now has a for famous former players to ring before play in Tests. Imitation is the highest form of flattery."

Later when BCCI's handle tweeted this, "Say hello to the bell at Eden Gardens #INDvNZ @Paytm Test Cricket."
