Liverpool confident about beating Man Utd bid for ace Ashley Young

Liverpool FC has expressed confidence about beating Manchester United’s bid for £20 million-rated England ace Ashley Young.

According to The Sun, the Aston Villa winger is one of Alex Ferguson's top targets this summer and he is convinced he would be at Old Trafford next season.

Anfield sources, however, insist that coach Kenny Dalglish has stepped on the pedal to recruit the 25-year-old for Merseyside.

Young has steadfastly refused to comment on his future, but he has just 12 months left on his contract and so far not discussed another.
