Liverpool will be looking to move to second place behind Chelsea in the Premier League table when they take on Suderland on Wednesday. The team is firm favourites to win the match, given Suderland's atrocious form and lack of a win at Anfield in 30 years.

Liverpool are in fine form, with six successive Premier League wins and 82 goals scored from just 30 games. Moreover, they have just won 6-3 at Cardiff City, and the morale of the team is high.

"We're really looking forward to playing at Anfield now on Wednesday night," manager Brendan Rodgers told the club's official website.

"Hopefully the supporters can really get behind the team well before kick-off, get the atmosphere revved up for the game and we'll look to continue on this great run. As you can see, we believe we can perform well and get results," he added.

Luis Suarez has now scored 28 goals from just 25 Premier League appearances this season, and leaves teammate Daniel Sturridge far behind at 19 goals. He was also instrumental in Chelsea's 3-1 win at Suderland in September last year.

Suderland, however, are in a continued run of poor form, with no wins from their last 4 Premier League games. They lost to Norwich City 2-0 on Saturday.

Sunderland could be without striker Steven Fletcher (out with an ankle injury) but they have recalled England under-21 forward Connor Wickham, while Goalkeeper Keiren Westwood remains sidelined with a shoulder injury.
