South African seam bowler Kyle Abbott has reportedly been included in his team's Twenty20 squad to play against Australia in the three-match T20 International series starting at St George's Park in Port Elizabeth on Sunday.

Fast bowler Dale Steyn, who has sustained a Grade 1 hamstring strain during the Test at Newlands, is likely to miss the first two matches while he recovers.

According to Sport24, South African team manager Dr Mohammed Moosajee said that a Grade 1 hamstring strain would usually take between 7-10 days to recover for which Steyn is unlikely to be available for the first two matches in Port Elizabeth and Durban.

Moosajee further said that at this stage, they are hoping that Steyn will be available for the ICC World Twenty20 and will work towards having him ready for the final T20 against Australia in Centurion.

The report mentioned that Wayne Parnell and Beuran Hendricks would undergo fitness tests on Saturday to determine their availability for the opening match of the series.

The T20 squad will gather for a two-day camp before beginning with their preparations for the series on Saturday, the report added.
