It's easy to be a Twitter personality but the hard part is to handle the criticism, negativity and foolishness that comes along with it. Recently, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif had to clarify that he is not a supposed sharpshooter as his name matched with another Mohammad Kaif who is involved in a murder case in Bihar.

Then the 2002 Lord's tri-series final hero explained why he didn't have a hand in MS Dhoni's run out on debut as depicted in the latter's biopic, which released last Friday. However, the senior player said that he is game for all these and barring the shooter's case, he takes everything sportingly.

"You just need to stay chilled in life. The identity crisis issue was a misunderstanding. I immediately clarified it on Twitter but then the next day I saw some website again making the same mistake. So then it was a big shock for me and that's why I decided to give a lengthy explanation. It was disappointing to see my name getting dragged in such a issue time and again," Kaif told dna referring to the incident when his namesake accused in the murder of Hindustan Daily’s Siwan bureau chief Rajdev  Ranjan was thought to be him.

Here's Kaif explanatory tweet

Talking about his funny tweet pertaining to M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Kaif said that he wanted to jokingly put across his own point of view regarding Dhoni's run out, "When I saw the movie I was very impressed and I still advice everyone to watch the film as it is an inspirational journey, narrated brilliantly.  However, I was held responsible for his run out. But I took it sportingly and for the sake of fun, I put across my side of the story via a tweet," said Kaif.

When asked whether Dhoni had any hard feelings for this incident or not, Kaif replied in negative. "I know him (Dhoni) very closely, but he has never ever questioned me for that instance. It was his friends who were shown as saying what they said. Even if things like these happen between players, we sit down and sort out the issue over a meal."

Incidentally, there's a sequence in the Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer film where Dhoni's ODI debut is portrayed. Coming in to bat at No. 7, Mahi was found short of his crease after trying to run a single by guiding the ball to short fine leg. Kaif was the batsman at the non-striker's end who sent back the debutant as it was too risky to take a run of that ball. However, in the movie, as soon as Dhoni's gets run out, his disappointed childhood friends say, "Kaif ka galti tha".

It is this incident for which Kaif  took to Twitter to clarify what happened on that day and went in flashback by revisiting the day when he first met Dhoni. "Saw MS Dhoni - The Untold Story. Dhoni's story is an inspiration and this movie should inspire the youth to catch the train of their dreams. My first encounter with Dhoni was in the Deodhar Trophy match shown in the film between Central Zone and East Zone. I was leading Central Zone and Dhoni scored a quickfire 84 for East Zone and we lost the match. In the movie though, in his run out in his first ODI, Dhoni's friends said, Kaif ka galti tha. Nahi bhai, mera galti nahi tha. But, phenomenal life story and an inspirational man - Mahendra Singh Dhoni."
