Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has dismissed speculations that striker Daniel Sturridge could be leaving the Anfield club at the end of the season amidst public criticism of his injury record.

Sturridge made just six appearances this season before being sidelined with a hamstring injury since early December. The England striker endured fitness issues for much of his three years at Anfield, limiting his playing chances that prompted Klopp to voice out his frustration.

Reports began circulating on Friday saying Sturridge was unhappy with constant criticism of his injury record and was likely to secure a transfer in the close-season.

Dismissing the speculations as having little substance, Klopp disclosed that Sturridge had been back in training for the past two days and requires consistent training in order to be fit for the Premier League football, Sport24 reported.

The German said that they had tried everything they could to bring the England international back to his best shape, adding that Liverpool are now hoping to get the benefit of that work.
