Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan had the better of Christopher Rungkat of Indonesia to enter the semifinals of the CCI-ITF men’s $15,000 tennis tournament at the CCI courts, Churchgate on Thursday.
Nedunchezhiyan produced some solid winners to register a 7-6(3) 6-2 victory in an hour and 25 minutes in the quarterfinals. He will meet wild carder, Purav Raja, for a place in the final.
Raja, meanwhile, recorded a comfortable victory over Britain’s
James Marsalek in a one-sided quarterfinal match. Raja took advantage of the hot, humid conditions to wear down his rival from London before romping to an easy 6-3 6-4 victory.
