Italian great Gianluca Zambrotta, who won the FIFA World Cup in 2006, is set to be appointed as coach of Indian Super League (ISL) side Delhi Dynamos.
The 39-year-old former right-back will replace Brazil legend Robert Carlos ahead of the third season of the league.
Known as one of the best wingbacks ever, Zambrotta won a host of titles with Juventus, AC Milan and Barcelona during his playing days.
This won't be his first coaching stint, having spent two years with Swiss club FC Chiasso. His side finished seventh in the 10-team Swiss Challenge League last season.
According to Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italy veteran has agreed to a four-month deal with Delhi Dynamos from September through December.
The Delhi outfit lost to FC Goa in the semifinal last season and will hope that Zambrotta makes them go all the way this time around.
Meanwhile, the Delhi outfit also signed former French midfielder Florent Malouda for the upcoming season.
