Former Indian batting legend and Rajasthan Royals mentor Rahul Dravid spoke out on Friday about the suspension of the IPL franchise, after a Supreme Court monitored probe.

In a press conference, Dravid expressed disappointment at the suspension of Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings. "It is disappointing that actions of one or two people affect so many people. There are some very good people in Rajasthan Royals and Chennai who will be affected," said Dravid referencing Raj Kundra and Gurunath Meiyappan, who have both been banned for life from any kind of cricketing activity.

"People at the bottom of the pyramid are the most affected. Despite strict punishments, some people still want to bring the game into disrepute", he added.

He however, added that it is necessary to respect the verdict, because 'it's by people who know way more about the issue'. Dravid refused to answer specific questions about the verdict.

"I have absolutely no clue about match fixing. I have spoken to the Mudgal commission about this", said Dravid when asked about his knowledge of any match fixing activity.

"I wish I had known that the three (RR) players were doing anything suspicious; I would have dealt with it", said the former Indian batsman replaying to a question on Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila, who were all banned for life after being convicted of spot fixing.

"I think people have to decide if actions of shareholders of a team are a blot on career of the coaches", he said in response to another question.
