The Supreme Court on Thursday observed that the IPL team Chennai Super Kings should be suspended without further inquiry.

Asking N Srinivasan to give details about who controls Chennai Super Kings owned by India Cements, the court said, "Furnish details of share holding of India Cements and composition of its Board members."

The court also proposes that the BCCI election can be held but persons named in Mudgal report will not contest and new board will take decision on IPL-6 scam.

"BCCI must put an end to all these controversies," Supreme Court added.

Meanwhile, BCCI submits that an external commission be set up to hand out punishment to persons found guilty in the Mudgal committee report.

The Supreme Court on August 25 had said that N Srinivasan's son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan's role in IPL betting and spot-fixing scandal seemed like "insider trading" and agreed to hear a plea for making public the names of cricketers, who were mentioned in the Justice Mudgal Committee report.

Whereas, on August 24, putting a spanner on N Srinivasan's bid to get reinstated as BCCI chief, the Supreme Courthad said it will look into 'conflict of interest' issue arising from his being head of the cricket board and owning an IPL team whose official is found to be involved in betting.

The apex court had also made it clear that it will consider the conduct of his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan, an official of Chennai Super Kings, while deciding his plea to get back his post from which he had to step aside in June last year in view of the IPL-6 betting and spot fixing scandal.

Aaccusing the Board of Control of Cricket (BCCI) of killing the game, the court had said that the game must be played in its true spirit and should remain a gentleman's game.

On November 17, N Srinivasan was indicted by a probe committee for not acting against an unnamed cricketer accused of misconduct while his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan and Raj Kundra were found guilty of betting that could leave their teams CSK and RR in trouble.

While giving its findings on Srinivasan, the panel had said "this individual is not involved with match fixing activity. This individual was not found to be involved in scuttling the investigations into match fixing."

The BCCI has also stood behind N Srinivasan in the wake of the Mudgal Committee clearing him of betting and match fixing allegations while backing IPL COO Sundar Raman in his legal battle in the Supreme Court.

BCCI had said the charges against Srinivasan were aimed at destabilising the Board. Srinivasan is currently also the Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Also, Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) President Jagmohan Dalmiya has extended East Zone's support to the embattled BCCI President, who is seeking a third term as the Board chief, by signing the nomination papers for the December 17 elections.
