IPL auction: Omar Abdullah compares unsold players to politicians without cabinet berths

Over 350 players went under the hammer at the auction held on Saturday in Bengaluru but some big names remained unsold.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah saw the lighter side at IPL auction on Saturday likening "unsold" cricketers to legislators overlooked for ministerial berths but still putting up a brave face.

"Unsold cricketer at #IPLAuction = MLA/MP overlooked for ministry before oath taking ceremony. *embarrassed but putting on a brave face*," Omar wrote on Twitter.

Over 350 players went under the hammer at the auction held on Saturday in Bengaluru but some big names remained unsold. Some of the stars who could not find a franchise included Hashim Amla, Martin Guptill, Aaron Finch and Usman Khwaja.
