In a slight change of plans,The Jharkhand State Cricket Asssociation stadium in Ranchi will host the second qualifier of IPL 8 on May 22, confirmed the BCCI.
Mumbai - who originally were to host the second qualifier- will instead now host the first qualifier on May 19. The IPL's governing council decided to pick Ranchi due to the city's proximity to Kolkata, where the final of this year's tournament will be held on May 24.
Ranchi, which has earlier played host to some of Chennai Super Kings' home games, has not been awarded any league match this season.
The eliminator match between the third and fourth-placed sides will be held at the Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium (MCA) in Pune on May 20.
