Just as the season 8 of Indian Premiere League has begun, fixing news have started to surface.
A Rajasthan Royal player informed BCCI's anti-corruption team last month that he was approached by a Ranji teammate to follow a pre-decided pattern of play to get money in return.
According to indianexpress.com, the Mumbai based player refused the offer and informed a senior official of Rajasthan Royals about the incident. The official then took the matter to the Anti-Corruption and Security Unit of BCCI.
The RR player told ACSU that he thought the offer was a joke played by his Ranji temamate. But when the man spoke about the chances of making money, RR player realised that the offer was real. According to the procedure, BCCI top officials are informed about the approach.
BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur said the player's action showed that the Board's efforts to educate players over perils of spot-fixing are paying off. "A player was approached and he immediately intimated @BCCI anti corruption unit. Glad that BCCI education policy showing positive results" Thakur tweeted.

Though Thakur did not reveal the identity of the player, Rajasthan Royals has five cricketers from Mumbai -- Ajinkya Rahane, Pravin Tambe, Dinesh Salunkhe, Dhawal Kulkarni and Abhishek Nayar.
Co-incidentally, IPL spot-fixing scandal of 2013 had led to the arrest of three Rajasthan Royal players, including S Sreesanth. The issue also saw N Srinivasan step down as BCCI board president when Supreme Court got involved.
Earlier in the month, RR mentor Rahul Dravid had called for stringent laws to curb the match fixing in IPL.
Amidst this revelation, Rajasthan Royals will play their first match of the season against Kings XI Punjab on Friday.
