Royal Challengers Bangalore have called in South Africa chinaman bowler Tabraiz Shamsi as a replacement for injured West Indies legspinner Samuel Badree for the ongoing ninth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
35-year-old Badree has not featured in any match since he got injured during his country's World T20 victory over England in the finals.
Describing Shamsi as a 'mysterious' spinner, Royal Challengers' bowling coach Allan Donald said that the Proteas player would add variation and mystery to the franchise's attack.
"Meet our new mysterious spinner. I've seen him bowl for Titans. He is very successful with what he has done in the past couple of years. Look out for a lot of mystery balls in there," Donald was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
Shamsi had received huge success in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), bagging 11 wickets in seven games he played for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in 2015.
He also notched up nine wickets in ten games he appeared for Titans in this year?s South Africa domestic tournament, the Ram Slam T20.
