The Royal Challengers Bangalore can be well on course to win their maiden IPL trophy. The team fits all the bills to be an ideal champion and here are five reasons why they have an edge over the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final. Here are five reasons why Kohli's men will triumph:

#1: Virat Kohli hitting the purple patch, in the form of his life

Coming off a very successful World T20 campaign, he has carried the form into this tournament. It's fair to say that no one has ever batted like him in the previous or current IPL season and he has scored a mind-boggling number of runs. With 919 runs so far, he needs another 81 to achieve the unique feat of scoring a 1000 runs in one IPL edition.

With a batting average of 83.54, which is quite rare in the shortest format of the game, there are chances that he might complete that feat in the final against SRH. He has crossed the half century mark 10 times this summer, which includes 4 centuries. So, if Virat stays at the crease for long, SRH have a strong reason to scratch their heads in worry.

#2: The batting firepower

RCB have the most fearsome batsmen of world cricket in their line-up, so if one of them fails there is always another to ready to come to the party. Apart from power hitter Chris Gayle, who has not really showcased the classic Gayle storm this season, they have the South African gem AB de Villiers in their ranks. The batsman with the out-of-the-box shots in his manual has come to the rescue of the team more than a couple of times this edition, especially when he carried the team across the line in the Qualifier 1 against Gujarat Lions with his unbeaten 79.

Shane Watson, the Australian all-rounder is also a part of the destructive batting front, who can be equally menacing if he spends time in the middle.

#3: The momemtum is with them

After 10 matches in the tournament, RCB had managed to win just four of them, the 10th one being a 6-wicket loss to the Mumbai Indians. This put them at a stage, from where they had to win all their remaining fixtures if they wanted to qualify for the play-offs.

They somehow forgot their earlier form and got on with the task; RCB first tamed Gujarat Lions at home by a huge margin of 144 runs. Next up, they trounced the Knight Riders  their own den yet again for a big win with 9 wickets remaining. The rain-affected match against Punjab did not dampen the RCB spirits as they managed to win by 82 runs. In the last match of the group stage, RCB took on the Delhi Daredevils at Raipur and qualified for the knockouts with a 6- wicket win.

From there on, they marched straight on into the finals, after crushed  to the Sunrisers from Hyderabad. So, Virat Kohli’s men are on an unbeaten run and this surely builds on to their confidence going into the finals.

#4: Indian youngsters KL Rahul, Chahal and Aravind stepping up

Under the shadow of the biggies, there have been youngsters who have emerged. KL Rahul, the wicket-keeper batsman has stacked up 386 runs in the 13 matches he has played and has come in handy on numerous occassions.

Yuzvendra Chahal, has yet again proved to a quality spinner with 20 wickets in his kitty and is one the top wicket-takers of the tournament. He has a reputation of striking at the crucial stages and turn the match upside down. The other man that SRH batsmen will have to tackle is Sreenath Aravind, the fast bowler has already bagged 9 wickets in the 8 matches he has played.

#5:  Home-ground advantage

RCB are lucky to have the finals scheduled at home and they will have an advantage of playing in front of a vociferous Chinnaswamy crowd, where the fans donning red jerseys don't get tired of cheering,  “Aaaaarrr ceee beeee”. The original venue where the finals was to be held was the Wankhede Stadium, the home ground of the Mumbai Indians but midway during the tournament, the venue was changed due to Maharashtra droughts and Karnataka Cricket Association was awarded the summit clash.

It works well to their advantage, for the players know the pitch and ground like the back of their hand, and with smaller boundaries it’ll be easier for the explosive batsmen of RCB to dismantle the SRH bowling attack.
