The reason for Harsha Bhogle's ouster from this season's Indian Premier League (IPL) commentary panel was attributed to the displeasure of certain Indian team members about his commentary in the recently concluded World T20. The voice of Indian cricket stirred up another controversy on Thursday by tweeting about Rising Pune Supergiants (RPSG) captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni's unusual off day on field.

In a encounter between two new entrants Gujarat Lions (GL) and Pune, the usually dependable Dhoni missed Brendon McCullum's regulation stumping off Ravichandran Ashwin's bowling. He was also guilty of giving away too many byes. Bhogle who is an avid Twitter user tweeted, "Rare off day for MSD behind the stumps?" Jonathan Agnew a former Leicestershire cricketer and a present commentator saw the funny side of tweet and replied, "@bhogleharsha Careful. They'll ban you from Twitter next."

Incidentally after India's thrilling one-run win over Bangladesh in World T20, a tweet from actor Amitabh Bachchan was seemed to have been directed at Bhogle, and it read: "With all due respects, it would be really worthy of an Indian commentator to speak more about our players than others all the time." This tweet was retweeted by India limited-overs captain MS Dhoni, who endorsed it by saying, "Nothing to add."
Bhogle said: "I tell every young cricketer who cares to listen that we will never agree on everything but I will always desire that they do well; that I cannot stop them from scoring a run, or taking a wicket or holding a catch."
"Doing that is their job, telling the story of what they did, or didn't, is mine. Our paths will be strewn with admiration and disagreement. It is the nature of the job whether you are a university level cricketer or among the best there has been. And, for heaven's sake, my greatest criticism is that I don't do enough of it," he added.
